Finally, DOTA 2 fans worldwide have a reason to be happy about it. After much waiting and speculation, Valve has finally released its new Battle Pass along with a brand new event- Nemestice.

Earlier at the start of the year, many wondered if Valve will release a new Battle Pass or not. This speculation was even heightened as Valve announced that DOTA 2: The International 10 will be conducted this year. Previously The International 10 was cancelled in the event of the Corona outbreak and pandemic. Valve declared that the collected prize pool will be added to this year’s collection and it will be used for The International: DOTA 2 Champions this year.

After the release of Supporter’s club and other small feature updates, many started to think that there will be no Battle Pass this year. Naturally, DOTA 2 fans were quite saddened about this matter. But yesterday Valve released a whole new event: Nemestice and it was accompanied by an event Battle Pass. The update came as quite a surprise and it was welcomed by fans of all levels. What was more pleasing that after much awaiting Valve finally released the Spectre Arcana with the Nemestice Battle Pass.

What is Nemestice?

Valve has released a new event for the DOTA 2 Battle Pass update. This event is supposedly happening for the first time in DOTA 2. The story of this event revolves around the two Ancients and the fall of the Mad Moon. According to the DOTA 2 lore, Zet, the Arc Warden was in charge of guarding the Mad Moon. But after the destruction of the Mad Moon the two Powerful Ancient Forces- Radiant and Dire fell to the ground and created the world of DOTA 2.

This event provides some added knowledge to that lore. It is mentioned here that after the destruction of the Mad Moon, it was not divided into two opposing types of crystals but three. The third type of power was also scattered around the space that didn’t fell to the ground until now. This third type of power is controlled by neither Radiant nor Dire stones.

Nemestice is warped remnants of the shattered Mad Moon filled with the sacrificing power of Zet that are still to be claimed by either Ancients.
Nemestice Storm will hit the battlefield with disrupting meteor strikes- leaving smouldering fragments which if harvested can rival the power of both Ancients.

How to play the Event game?

The event game will like a normal match of DOTA 2 with some added power boosts and skills. Winning a battle will earn the players Nemestice Battle points which can be used to level up the Battle Pass. The rules of the game are very simple:

1) Every three minute there will be a Nemestice storm at the centre of the map. This Nemestice storm will result in a giant meteor strike which will provide Nemestice Embers upon channelling. Getting hit by a meteor before its impact can be deadly.

2) Players can use the Nemesetice Embers to grant themselves Embercharge which will boost their attack damage, spell amplification and movement speed.

3) The objective of the game is to destroy all enemy towers to gain victory. The added power boosts from Embercharge can be used to any advantage. Additional features include boosted enemy towers and Nemestice Crazed creeps.

The Nemestice Battle Pass

After much speculation finally, DOTA 2 fans are getting a brand new Battle Pass. The Battlepass contains 500 levels. One can purchase the Battlepass in three different bundles with different offers.

1) Battlepass Level 1 bundle– It is the basic Battlepass with just the starting level. This is priced at $7.49

2) Battlepass level 50 bundle– It is the intermediary Battlepass with added 50 levels. This is priced at $26.99.

3) Battlepass Level 100 Bundle– It contains the advanced Battlepass with added 100 levels. This is priced at $41.99.

What is inside the Battlepass?

Battle Pass Quests: DOTA 2

The Nemestice Battlepass is full of surprises and event-related cosmetics. Players can level up their Battlepass by winning event games that will fetch the Battle Points. Each level contains 1000 Batllepoints. There will be several weekly quests each week. Players can earn Battle Points by completing these weekly quests. A total of 18 stars in a week will earn the players 7500 Battle Points. Another interesting thing is added with the Battlepass – Nemestice Craven Crawl. Players need to choose from a Carry (Phantom Assassin), Support (Dark Willow), and Utility (Lina) role hero to play in the match. Winning with these heroes will unlock new paths and finally will allow them to obtain exclusive hero sets.

Spectre Arcana

The most striking reward of the Battlepass comes in Battle level 330. It contains the much-awaited Spectre Arcana- Phantom Advent. The Exclusive Arcana comes in two different styles. The alternative style is called Phantom Ascension and can be unlocked by having a mega kill streak in 100 different games. The Arcana comes with some striking graphics and ambient effects.

Dragon Knight Persona

There is another remarkable Battlepass inside. At Battle Level 195, a whole new Dragon Knight Persona awaits- Davion of the Dragon Hold. It is based on the famous Dragon Knight Character of Netflix Anime- DOTA: Dragon’s Blood. The following Battle levels contain some Hero accessories for the said persona.

Dark Artistry Throwback

At Battle level 275, DOTA has included the Dark Artistry Set for the Acolyte of the Lost Arts Persona. Those who already have the persona will simply get the skin updated with the Dark Artistry set. Those who don’t have the Invoker Persona will also get a new one. The new Persona equipped with the Dark Artistry set looks great and all ready for battle.

Immortal treasures and Items

The Battlepass also contains Nemestice Immortal treasures at levels 1, 10, 22, 36, 52, 76, 108, 150, 205, 240 and then every 15 levels after that. Apart from Immortal treasures, the Battlepass carries Nemestice exclusive treasures also. The new immortals will have exclusive custom effect in-game.

The Battle Pass will be available for two months- a total of 8 weeks from its release. DOTA 2 has also added the support of AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution. This will allow the game to render at even a lower resolution with upheld image quality. The new update by Valve is expected to affect the daily average in-game players worldwide. The numbers are likely to go up as the news of the new Battlepass spread more.
