If you love the LoL or are a gamer, then you have probably heard his name. Also referred to as the “God” of LoL and the “Unkillable Demon King,” Faker’s actual name is Lee Sang Hyeok. After winning the LoL World Championships thrice, you would think one of the best in the game probably earns an impressive amount of money. If you are wondering how much the best players in the industry make, you are in the right place. Because in this article, we will discuss Faker net worth.

Tournament Winnings Of Faker

Before we move on to SKT Faker net worth, let’s go through his overall tournament winnings. Faker began playing professionally in 2013. After participating in 35 esports tournaments, he bagged the honor of being the first LoL player to earn over one million dollars in tournament winnings.

He won the first 6-digit prize money of his career on 4th October 2013 in the Season 3 of LoL World Championships. Before he was 18, Faker had already accumulated a total of $255,575.35 in prize money from nine tournaments. Out of all the 43 games where he bagged price money, his biggest cash prize to date is the $338,000 from the LoL 2016 Championship.

According to the calculations of esportsearnings.com, SKT Faker net worth includes a total of 1,175,068.35 dollars that he earned by playing LoL.

We breakdown Faker’s tournament earnings from each year below:

2018: $5,355.00

2017: $271,894.37

2016: $418,365.33

2015: $207,158.35

2014: $42,635.78

2013: $229,659.02

Following are his single tournament winnings:

LoL 2016 World Championship: $338,000.00

LoL Season 3 World Championship: $200,000.00

LoL 2015 World Championship: $166,666.67

Mid-Season Invitational: $135,200.00

LoL 2017 World Championship: $111,306.83

Mid-Season Invitational: $50,000.00

In total, Faker has bagged the first position in fourteen LoL tournaments, placed 2nd in seven tournaments and made it to the semis or finished third in seven tournaments. Currently, he is the highest-earning esports player in South Korea and on number 53 overall.

Faker Net Worth: Other Income

According to the South Korean website naver.com, Faker makes around 3 billion Korean won each year from SK Telecom. This is equivalent to 2.5 million American dollars. However, this figure was never verified, and SK Telecom refuses to disclose Faker’s contract. But considering how Faker rejected a Chinese company’s $10 million offer, we are sure his salary is more than that.

Moreover, Korean TV personality and ex-StartCraft superstar Hong Jin-Ho informed RadioStar that Faker accumulates around 5 billion South Korean Won every year, including incentives and sponsorships. That is equivalent to about 4.6 million dollars per annum.

The gamer also earns using his popularity via Twitch, a live streaming platform. He has a following of 1.5 million on the site. According to gamer.com, professional streamers make around $3000-$5000 every month if they stream their gameplay for forty hours each week. That may not be a lot of money, but it does not sound bad if you are getting paid for merely streaming your gameplay.

Faker net worth

So what really is SKT Faker net worth?

According to the date of wealthrecord.com, Faker net worth is around 4 million dollars. However, that is merely an estimate. Only Faker and maybe, his accountant, truly know how much the professional gamer actually earns. As the player has revenue streams apart from professional play, there is no way to know surely.

Conclusion:

No one can be certain about Faker net worth, the actual amount can be only be confirmed by himself or his accountant. Since we don’t have the official numbers, we can only have an estimate based on the data we have. Incidents like, rejecting a $10 million deal from China, and saying no to the blank cheque offer from North America makes our estimates stronger.

What does common sense say here? If someone is rejecting a $10 million deal he must at least be making somewhere around it already, no?

Faker net worth might be there at number one but there are other eSports players making tons of money too. Here is a cool video that talks about the net worth of other famous players in the industry.
