Are you looking for a solid reason to buy PlayStation 5? Well, Deathloop can be the reason. In simpler words, you may not find any other game so enthralling than Deathloop. Players might find similarities with Deathloop with games like Outer Wilds, Hitman Dark Souls, and Dishonoured. But, this game has something unique and elusive in it. The recent release of Arkane Studios will make you want to buy the PS 5. It was released on the 14th of September 2021.

The game represents intelligence. You will be to escaping or even killing people who are wasting time. Deathloop shows how to improvise when things don’t go as you plan. It is a masterpiece by Arkane Studios. It captivates the player in its exclusive gunplay. You are inflicted in the loop of doom and gloomy days. The way to break this loop is to murder eight targets.

The game does not deal with the botch you create during or after the combat. So it will not matter if the player dies and gets sent back to the start of the day. What matters in the game is the information you gather. Only the information you gain will help you in the next round. Information or intelligence is the only objective of Deathloop, and that is what makes it so enchanting.

Diving Into the Game

Information will be your key in this game. You will be searching for Visionaries and killing them with the information you have. These Visionaries go on acting around like bosses on the island. Investigating murder-puzzle is the storyline of Deathloop. It is based on 60’s psychedelic culture. The name of your character will be Colt. You will wake up on the banks of an island known as the Blackreef. This is when you will discover that you are jammed in a time loop. You will obviously have to break out of the time loop. To do so, you will have to murder eight Visionaries before the ends. You can find them spread at four locations in Blackreef. The Visionaries to are stuck in the loop as well.

If you fail to assassinate all the given targets, the loop won’t break. The day will be divided into four periods which are morning, noon, afternoon, and evening. This means you will get around 16 spaces to kill the Visionaries. Colt will be looping that day, keeping in mind everything about it each time he dies.

When it comes to the most important element-time and intelligence goes hand in hand. The game will not fully release itself at first. Instead, it will unfold as you progress in the game. In case you fail, you will start the next day with practically everything being the same. But, this time, you will be able to plot and play with the intelligence you gathered in the previous day. How innovative is that?

The fun starts when you go on to hunt your targets. You can easily dig into the personal lives of your targets and find something that you can use to manipulate them. All the progress you make is updated and tracked with every new lead you find. From planning your itinerary to dealing with the consequences of your character, Deathloop keeps you engaged.

The perk of retaining your intelligence from past days helps you deal better with locked doors and hidden routes. However, The fact that only you could retain the information makes you feel like a mastermind killer. The information you collected in the past day will help you manipulate the bosses in the present day. For example, you get to know about what a boss likes. The next day when the loop continues, you can start tampering with what he likes. This ensures you are not wasting a single moment focusing, and makes you a genius. You may even get to know about romantic relationships of the bosses and tamper with them as well. It sure does make you the villain but also takes you a step closer to your target.

As the game unrolls, you will actually understand that colt has a deep-rooted relationship with Blackreef. The loop is a product of the relic that derived from Blackreef’s defunct military fixing. A cult resides there, which is led by Julianna, a woman, and her seven Visionaries. All of the members of the cult possess different personality and governs distinct part of the island.

You will aim to kill the cult in a repetitive or single loop. They are the key for Colt to get into the escape room. Patterns keep unfolding all over the island. Colt may not observe it at first. But, each of the areas on the island has a mystery for you to investigate and solve. While solving the mystery and killing the Visionaries remains your priority, there are optional pursuits you can go on. The journey of your character will meet with creative yet manipulative problem-solving skills.

You will be fighting with cultists, who wear masks and garish outfits inspired from the 60s. Investigate the place of their patrol, where they go, what they like, and even when they wake up. Colt will find stealth as an option, but not every time. You can choose your weapon based on the situation. It is better to say that Deathloop actually is a game of puzzles. Solving mysteries shapes the world. Colt will have a hard time finding Julianna. Moreover, she will pop out here and there to kill or even ruin the day for him. Try to kill her and stay careful of the weapons Colt managed to inherit.

What Adds to the Feel of the Game

We are almost done with the storyline. Now let’s head towards to know more about the graphics and stuff! The graphics of the game is commendable. It has gorgeous graphics with amazingly tight controls. The plot of the game being in the 1960s gives you an amazing vibe. The chilling spy music makes the whole experience even more charismatic.

The game emphasizes time and manipulation based on the intelligence you have gathered ahead of the curve. Other games use the loop mechanism but do not allow you to retain the intelligence. So your character does not get stronger but smarter. This is where Deathloop differs from the other games. Its repetition of the values of the same event to gaining skills.

You will barely find any other game making you use the knowledge you have gained. Or even drive you to manipulate the enemies with the gained intelligence. This made Deathloop an instant favorite among players. If nothing, the game will make you feel like a villain whose plan actually succeeds. What is better than living the life of a villain in a video game?

Concluding Thoughts

Deathloop is an extraordinary experience and gives you a purpose to lay your hands on a PS 5. It can also be awarded the label of the perfect video game of 2021. This is a perfect example of an escape room and that too during this pandemic. The experience the game delivers mostly is an extended aspect of Arkane Studios. Arkane has a signature puzzle-solving feature that gets perfectly inflicted into Deathloop. Please give it to the designers and the creative team for delivering the best version of the gave. No wonder they spent years polishing it to perfectness. If you have a knack for solving puzzles, mysteries, and virtual murder, Deathloop can be just the right thing for you.
