Breaking conventional norms, “Star Wars: Outlaws” promises planets surpassing the scale of two “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” zones. In a gaming revolution that defies expectations, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are set to deliver an open-world Star Wars experience like never before.

Prepare for a journey through vast and meticulously handcrafted landscapes that will transport players to the heart of the Star Wars universe. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are shattering preconceptions about the boundaries of open-world gaming with their upcoming release, “Star Wars: Outlaws.”

Creative director Julian Gerighty proudly declared to Edge Magazine that, crudely, the game’s planets would be larger than two zones in the expansive world of “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.” Prepare to be awestruck by the sheer magnitude of these handcrafted environments as they offer unprecedented immersion and exploration.

Handcrafted Planets and Epic-Scale Exploration

Unlike Starfield, which relies on procedural generation, “Star Wars: Outlaws” takes a different approach.

The planets in the game are meticulously handcrafted, ensuring a level of detail and authenticity reminiscent of the original Star Wars trilogy.

Each planet is approximately equivalent in size to two zones found in the vast world of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, delivering a manageable yet immersive experience.

While the number of planets in the game remains undisclosed, players can anticipate various environments to explore.

An Epic Adventure Between Two Iconic Films

“Star Wars: Outlaws” will transport players to the time between “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” a pivotal period in the Star Wars saga.

As gamers embark on this unforgettable journey, they will discover a galaxy teeming with distinctive and mesmerizing planets.

Each world is carefully crafted to provide a unique and immersive experience, transporting players into a richly detailed universe that captures the essence of Star Wars.

The Freedom to Carve Your Path

True to the open-world genre, “Star Wars: Outlaws” empowers players with unparalleled freedom of choice and approaches. The lead character, Vess, alongside her companion Nix, will navigate the galaxy’s crime syndicates, take on risky missions, and face formidable challenges.

Whether players confront their enemies head-on in combat or embrace stealthy tactics, the game accommodates diverse playstyles, offering an expansive sandbox for galactic adventures.

Imbued with nostalgia and reverence for the original trilogy, “Star Wars: Outlaws” draws inspiration from the iconic 1970s era. Massive Entertainment’s dedication to authenticity is evident in its recreation of lenses from the period.

By incorporating subtle cinematic effects such as vignetting, film grain, lens breathing, and lens flares, the game achieves a visually stunning and immersive experience that captures the essence of the beloved films.

Release on the Horizon and a Frozen Han Solo

With its launch scheduled for 2024, anticipation for “Star Wars: Outlaws” continues to rise. As fans eagerly await its arrival on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, Ubisoft’s confirmation that the game will feature a frozen Han Solo has sparked excitement and speculation.

The promise of an open-world Star Wars adventure on an unprecedented scale has gamers counting down the days until they can explore the vast reaches of the galaxy and carve their path as legendary outlaws.

“Star Wars: Outlaws” has shattered expectations with its groundbreaking approach to open-world gaming. By delivering planets that dwarf the scale of two “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” zones, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are redefining what is possible in exploration and immersion.

With its release on the horizon, players eagerly anticipate the chance to step into the shoes of Vess and experience the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Star Wars universe like never before. Brace yourselves for a gaming experience that will transport you to a galaxy far, far away.
