Ever thought of a game that would be completely in real-time? Guess what? Hideo Kojima might even bring this dream to reality. He has aged for sure but has not left the will to make gaming better for hardcore players worldwide. Rather Kojima, who turned 58, vows to bring something new on the plate for as long as possible. When it comes to Kojima, you know you are going to get just the best or nothing. Well-known as an auteur, Hideo Kojima is now leaned onto giving gamers a real-time video game experience. He better be named as the mine of unique and creative ideas for games.

We still do not know what is going to be the result. But, that does not stop the video game enthusiasts from giving full credit to this guy. He talked about his recent ambition in an interview with An-An, a lifestyle magazine from Japan. He discussed the kind of games he is willing to work on. The auteur refrained from talking about any specific genres. Moreover, he emphasized the never-ending concepts and ideas behind building a game. Being a fan of video games, we will never be tired of ideas Kojima comes up with.

Think of playing the same sort of video games over and over again. Yes, no change in the concept behind them or even the technology. Makes you feel bored just by thinking of it? No advancement in any genre of video games makes it monotonous. Improvising the concepts helps to avoid the sense of monotony. This is why the world of video games needs auteurs like Hideo Kojima. The milestones he has crossed in his long career are commendable. Kojima was the one behind the Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid games. He is well known for adding never-seen-before and strange yet striking elements in games. Starting from pee mechanics to flaming whales, he has been behind all of this. His ideas are ambitious; hence he is highly needed in the industry.

More Insight Into the Idea

Recently in an interview with Anan, he revealed that he is thinking of making a game that actually “changes in real-time.” For instance, Hideo Kojima said that it will change according to the player’s perspective and where they reside.  It will be in the hands of the player to make such changes. This description may sound a little vague, but let’s leave it up to the genius to exceed our expectations.

To give a better idea to the fans, he referred to the 2003 Boktai title Game Boy Advance: The Sun is in Your Hand. This Vampire-hunting game had an amazing element better known as the light sensor. It was on the cartridge, and it influenced me to play in direct sunlight. He wants to offer users with distinct gaming experience.

According to the Video Games Chronicle, he stated, “What I want to do is to make games that change in real-time,” he said. “People of all ages and professions are playing the same game, but everyone is playing the same way. Instead, it’s something that changes depending on where you live and how you feel about it.” He also added, “I made a game called Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand before. It’s a portable Game Boy Advance with a sun sensor and a clock. The amount of light from the sun is reflected in the game to defeat vampires, so the game changes depending on where and when you play. This kind of device connects the system created by people to the real world.”

The World Needs More Kojima

Even though the release of his latest game, Death Stranding Director’s Cut, awaits, he has already come up with intriguing ideas. This is why the video game industry needs more designers like him. He has endless ideas and vows to keep all the gamers entertained. We cannot afford to lose an ambitious asset of the gaming world. It does not seem very tough for someone like Kojima to run a game that “changes in real-time.”

One could easily say that AR games are pretty close to Kojima’s idea of a real-time game. But, the maps and the location will change so will other factors based on the gamer’s perspective. The game might not change based on your thinking, but we may expect something more than in-game decision-taking mechanisms. His concepts might be weird or even alien, for that matter, but it brings in twists in the game. For instance, he revealed that he wanted to add a sensor that will measure garlic breath in the Boktai Title. Well, it is safe to let geniuses work in their unique way. If nothing, it does not do any harm but only brings new features and perceptions to games.

The auteur is aging and struggling to keep up. But, it doesn’t seem like Kojima has ‘giving up’ in his bones. According to Video Games Chronicle, he said, “Although my body is failing me, my creativity is not waning yet,” he said. “Until my brain loses its creative power, I’ll continue to strive to create things. That’s my instinct, and that’s what I love to do.”

Concluding Thoughts

He has been in the industry for decades now and has seen technology advance. So it doesn’t seem impossible for Kojima to use modern technology to add the coolest yet weirdest features in the games.

However, there are rumors that he has been working on multiple projects now. However, there is no confirmation on this news as well. His next project may have the complex idea of real-time gaming or even something as simple as Death Stranding 2. It is tough to say what awaits in the future. Nevertheless, as long as he is behind, it will surely be something awesome. But, we will all wish to Kojima bring his real-time idea of games into reality very soon!
