Street fighter has been part of a lot of people’s childhood. Whether you grew up with the original arcade game or started with the more recent versions, you may be familiar with how much the game has visually evolved. A prominent selling feature of the game was the variety of characters, each with their skills and animations, which made each match exciting.

As a street fighter enthusiast, you may feel like you’re missing out on some of the fun because the basic game is limited. You may want to experience all kinds of players or may want to play your favorite characters in all the different costumes.

Getting the Characters

Street fighter 5 comes with a total of 16 characters, including some new additions. 5 of these 16 characters are part of the starter pack, which means they are available to everyone from the very beginning. The other characters are ones that you can unlock through several means.

Firstly, you can get them through the seasonal pass. This pass will cost you 30 dollars and give you access to the 6 DLC characters. Not many people would likely want to spend money to play these characters, so the game has an alternative route.

Unlike the pay-to-get seasonal pass, you have a play-to-get option because of in-game currency. The in-game currency in street fighter is called Fight money. You can earn points in fight money by winning online multiplayer matches and as rewards by completing daily challenges. Once you collect a total of 100,000 Fight money points, you can spend these to buy the character of your choice.

Getting the Costumes and the Colors

Costumes:

Street fighter characters also come in different costumes and colors, which you can customize to your liking—these feature ad to the game’s visual appeal. The various ensembles also correspond to the alternate storylines of the characters.

You can access the costumes through the story mode of the game and unlock that costume by finishing each character’s story mode. Alternatively, a quicker path you can take is by spending 40,000 Fight money points to get a single costume. Purchasing the costume with FM points would unlock the costume in all game-modes. The game also includes premium alternative costumes for its DLC characters.

While you can get most of the characters by purchasing the season pass, finishing game modes, or saving up a lot of Fighter money, there are some costumes you can only get by pre-ordering the game. There are four pre-order bonus exclusive costumes for Ryu, M. Bison, Cammy, and Chun-li. You can get these battle costumes by pre-ordering the game from Gamestop (For Ryu’s), Best Buy (For Cammy’s), PC digital stores like steam (For Chun-li’s), and Amazon (for M. Bison’s).

Colors:

The original five characters come in 10 exciting different colors, but you only have 2 to start with. You can get the rest of the colors by finishing the survival mode with each character (in the color you intend to unlock). The difficulty levels you can play to win the costume are Easy, Normal, and Hard.
