Since the launch of Riot Game’s latest strategic shooter, Valorant has become a favorite for gamers. The eSports world went abuzz within days of this game being released. It came out of closed beta and was available across the world from 2nd June 2020. Yes, it is one of the newborn games, but still, It is one the biggest FPS games in the world.

This tactical shooter game involves two teams consisting of five players each. No matter where you are in the world, you can sign in and start playing. Each game will have around 25 rounds, out of which you need to win 13 first to win the match. The players can choose their character called ‘agents.’ You can even opt to buy weapons and abilities just when starting the game.

However, if you have just downloaded the game and want to try your hands at it, you can go through this article. We have curated a list of tips starting from beginners to advanced level and another list of top guns that you can benefit from using in the game.

Basic to Advanced Tips for Valorant Players

No matter whether you are starting your journey with Valorant or you are a pro at it. These tips are sure to help you out. The motto in the game is to prevent the opposition from detonating or eliminating the Spike. Without any further ado, let’s start with the tips really quick –

  • Be A Master of Weapon and Abilities

Master everything. Just being good with either weapons or abilities will not help you go far in the game or even level up. It would be best if you blended both to be a master of the game.

  • When Playing Randoms Avoid Instalocking a Character

Make it a habit of not choosing your character first while playing a random. Let your opponent choose. This increases your chances of succeeding in the game. This also brings to the conclusion that you have to be comfortable playing any character. Hence, practice accordingly.

  • Walk with Shift

While you are walking, try to hold Shift. This will reduce or silence your footsteps, making it tough for the opponent teammates to locate where you are. It is better to run around at the start or during an emergency, basically when you know your enemies will not hear your footsteps.

  • Know the Name of Locations

Learning the name of the locations will benefit you in tricky situations that might come in your way uncalled for. Try to text chat the location name when the voice chat is disabled.

  • Practice Shooting

Valorant includes a huge deal of shooting, thus being good at it is a must. If you are a beginner or your shooting skill just is not at par, you should practice shooting without skipping it. The aim can be acquired from muscle memory. The only way to improve your muscle memory is to practice regularly. You can practice in The Range for about 15 minutes a day.

  • Channel Team Work

Corporation, communication, and coordination can make you win matches. For example, ensuring every lane has at least one player posted to defending your teammates will help win the game. Other than this, you can also learn how to fake attacks, bait the enemy, rotate, and make your squad learn the same.

  • Avoid Standing Still While Shooting

Standing still while shooting will be one of the huge mistakes you commit while playing Valorant. Just after your first shot, try to crouch. There is a reason for this – when your weapon will recoil, it will end up higher with every shot. This means if you move while shooting, there is a huge chance your enemy will lose the aim. It also helps you to tackle recoil and keep your aim low.

  • Pick A Gun for Yourself

Pick a gun for the role. When heading for confined places, choose closer-quarter weapons. When headed to a massive and long alleyway, choose snipers or other guns but not an SMG. Do not use SMG or other closer weapons unless you are in a close counter with your enemy.

  • Know When Not to Use Operator

When you are defending, try not to use the operator at the same spot twice. For instance, when you whitewash your enemies when they rush mid with the operator and make them lose the round, they will hardly be fool enough to rush mid again. So rather than using your operator there again, please take it to B long.

  • Use Vandal or Sheriff

If you have mastered your aim management, then it is better to use Sheriff or Vandal. These are higher-damage guns, and one headshot can kill your enemy.

Top 5 Guns in Valorant

Are you in search of the best guns in Valorant? Well, then you will not be disappointed with this list. This list has been created from the spray pattern to the stats, keeping in mind all of it. However, this is completely my opinion, and it may vary from person to person. Let’s not wait another moment and move on –

  • Operator

It is a sniper rifle with 5 magazines and is available at 5000 creds. The Wall penetration capacity of the gun is high as well. Even though the price of the gun has recently been increased from 4500 to 5000 creds, it is still one of the most robust guns in the game. If you are willing to kill armored enemies, this is the gun you should opt for. It can kill enemies with just one shot to the body despite the range they are in. The best gun to date to get away with your life and get a frag.

  • Vandal

An assault rifle with 25/75 magazine and available for 2,900 creds, but the wall penetration is mediocre. The fire rate of Vandal is quite slow – 9.75 rounds/sec, 585 RPM, and the magazine are small as well. However, the damage output of Vandal is massive and consistent. One headshot can kill the opponent. The first bullet accuracy is not up to the mark but still can prove to be beneficial.

  • Phantom

This one, too, is an assault rifle available for 2,900 creds and has 30/90 magazines. Wall penetration capacity is average in this one. If you are one with love for a higher fire rate and a larger magazine, this is the gun for you. The fire rate of Phantom is 11 rounds/sec, 660 RPM. The first bullet accuracy is commendable in Phantom. The silenced barrel can come to your advantage.

  • Spectre

An SMG with 30 Magazine, medium wall penetration capacity, and available for 1600 creds secure the 4th spot for being the best in SMG class guns. It is accurate and far cheaper. The magazine capacity is also high and kicks less as well. It can be your savior when you are in a pickle. Hence, it is better not to undermine this budget-friendly alternative to assault rifles.

  1. Marshall

A sniper rifle available for a much cheaper budget of 1100 creds has 5 magazines and medium wall penetration capacity. You can easily name Marshall to be a cheap alternative to Operator. Multiple features are weakened for coming at such a lower price. It only kills the enemy without armor. Nevertheless, it is speedy, amazing no-scope accuracy, and scoping animations.

Concluding Thoughts

These tips and the top guns list might help you get better at the game. Valorant has won hearts just within a year of its launch. If you still have not installed and played a game in Valorant, it’s time you do. It may seem complicated at first for an FPS game, but it will ease out with time for sure.
