In the midst of all the horrors of Coronavirus Korea, there is some good news for the eSports fans.

South Korea is all set to host a 3-nation eSports event in November 2020. Yes, you heard that right – It will be held this year. And the organizers are so fed up with the current Coronavirus situation in Korea and the rest of the world that they said, no matter the condition, the event will take place.

Coronavirus Korea, The Event, And The Participants

Although the Coronavirus outbreak in Korea is nowhere near gone but it is still better than most of the world. The South Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism also known as SKMCST has decided that the event will take place and the audience will have to enjoy the games online if the Coronavirus situation doesn’t improve.

This is what the spokesperson of the South Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has to say,

“We can confirm that we will have the tournament in November, but considering the pandemic situation, we are also considering [hosting] the tournament online.”

The tri-nation tournament will have teams from China, Korea, and Japan. The categories in the tournament will be Mobile, PC, and others. The organizers are deciding about the games in the tournament. In deciding the games, South Korea will have a major say.

Conclusion:

The Coronavirus Korea scene is still bad. However, some eSports event taking place in Korea is positive news. This is exactly what the fans want amidst all the depressive news. Apart from that, we have also heard that the organizers of the event are pushing hard to get esports included in the Olympics.
